Tehri Dam is the highest dam in India having a hight of 261 meter and it is the 8th tallest Dam in the world,,,,. This dam is located at Bhagirathi river, in Uttrakhand. The length of this dam is 1886 ft ,,, crest width of this Dam is 66 ft,,,,base width of this dam is 3701ft,,,,,,

It is the largest dam of India with the height of 225 meter and the second largest dam in the whole ASIA. This Dam is located at gorge near bhakra village in Billaspur of Himachal Pradesh. The length of this dam is 518 meter,,,,, and its broadness is 9.1 m nd its reservoir is known as Gobind Sagar which stores 9.34 billion cubic meters of water to drain the parts of Punjab, Haryana,Delhi and Chandigarh. Its reservoir is 90 km long which is the second largest reservoir of India.
Center of Attraction for Tourist : Because it is the largest Dam of india so it attracts large number of tourists to visit its reservoir and other attractive Locations.
3 Hirakud Dam :
This Dam is the longest man made dam in the world have length of 26 km,, The location of this Dam is 15
km from Sambalpur. It is one of the Major and Multipurpose river valley project which is started after India
Independence. The height of this Dam is 200 ft.The construction of this Dam was started in 1948 and this Dam is opened for its working in 1957. The construction cost of this Dam at that time is 101 crore.
4 Nagarjuna Sagar Dam :
This Dam is world's largest masonry Dam with a heigth of 124 meters, bulid accross Krishna River in Andhra Pradesh. This Dam is certainly the pride of India Considered the largest man made lake in the World.This Dam is 1.6 km long having 26 Gates of it .

5 Sardar Sarovar Dam :
This Dam is also known as "Narmada Dam". The height of this Dam is 163 meters. And this Dam is located Gujarat over Narmada river . Areas of Kutch and Saurashtra will get irrigate by this project. This Dam is meant to benefit 4 Major States of India Gujarat, Madhaya Pradesh , Maharashtra, Rajasthan.
